Tennis at the Olympics can be played on any surface depending on the venue it’s hosted at. At the 2024 Paris Games it will be held on the clay courts of Roland Garros – home to the French Open. Tennis would continue to be included as an Olympic sport until after the 1924 Olympic Games when it was dropped after a dispute between the IOC and ITF over the definition of amateur tennis players.
